1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.04   SUBMITTALS

 

A.    Submit under provisions of Section 01300.

 

B.    Shop Drawings: Indicate partition plan, elevation views, dimensions, and panel and opening sizes, details of wall, floor supports.

 

            C.    Product Data: Provide data on panel construction, hardware, and accessories.

 

D.    Samples: Submit sample of partition panels, illustrating panel finish, color, and sheen and quarter scale model if requested by architect.

 

E.    Provide a sample of each type of hardware, if requested by architect.

 

 

1.05  REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

 

A.    Comply with CAS/CAR and ADA for accessibility for the physically disabled.

1.06 LEED Environmental Requirements

 

Provide Local source materials (within 500 miles)

1.      Submit required Documentation for LEED Credit on Local/Regional Materials; each submittal shall include the following:

a.       Cost of Materials ( exclude Labor and Transportation )

b.      Air Miles from fabrication point to job site.

2.      See LEED Record Document and required attachments at end of Section 01700

 

Provide product with highest possible recycled content.

1.      Required Documentation for LEED Credit on Recycled content; each submittal     shall include the following:

a.       Cost of materials ( exclude labor and transportation ).

b.      Recycled content ( % post consumer, % post industrial, and total ).

2.      See LEED Record Document and required attachments at end of Section 01700.

 

 

 

1.07 FIELD MEASUREMENTS

 

A.   Verify that field measurements are as indicated on shop drawings.

 

 

 

1.08 COORDINATION

 

A. Coordinate placement of backing in walls. Backing by others.

 

1.09 EXTENDED WARRANTY

 

A.    Provide manufacturer's standard 15 year warranty, to include breakage, corrosion or delamination of installed plastic components, and hardware. Defective components shall be replaced. Labor for reinstallation not included.

 

 

 

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

 

2.01   SYSTEMS

          

           A.    Shower Cubicle with floor mounted overhead braced pilasters.

 

 

2.02   MATERIALS

 

A.    Solid Plastic: Panels and pilasters shall be high density polyethylene (HDPE) containing 30% recycled resin, manufactured under high pressure forming a single component section that is waterproof, nonabsorbent, with a self-lubricating surface resistant to marking with writing utensils.

 

 

2.03   COMPONENTS

 

A.    Pilaster Shoe: Plastic Shoe.

 

B.    Head Rail: ASTM B221; aluminum extrusion, 6364-T5 alloy with clear

        Anodized finish and anti-grip configuration, minimum 1.188 lbs. per lineal foot. Head Rail shall have built in curtain track and be fastened to the tops of pilasters and to the head rail brackets with stainless steel, tamper resistant torx head through bolts.

 

C.    Attachments, Screws, and Bolts: ASTM A167; Type 304 stainless steel.

 

D.    Through Bolts and Nuts: Type 304 stainless steel, Anti theft type.

 

E.     Hardware:

 

1.      Head rail brackets shall be 16 gauge stainless steel with a satin finish, and secured to the wall with #14 stainless steel screws. 

2.      Shower curtains shall be constructed from vinyl and shall be 42" wide by 80" high

3.      Shower hooks shall be aluminum with a self-lubricating Derlin slide

 

 

F.     Shower corners shall be 76" long and made of heavy-duty extruded aluminum (6463-T5 alloy) with a bright dip anodized finish.  Shower corners are fastened to panels and pilasters with tamper resistant torx head screws.

 

 

 

 

 

2.04  FABRICATION

 

A.     Fabricate partitions from HDPE material with finished faces, free of saw marks, and all edges machined to .250 inch radius.


B.    Panels, Pilasters:

 

1.      Thickness: 1 inch minimum,

2.      Pilaster Height: 82 inches.

3.      Panel Height: 76" high and mounted to pilaster with continuous aluminum shower corners.

4.      Pilasters shall be 82" high and mounted to panels with continuous aluminum shower corners.  The pilasters shall be overhead braced with an anti-grip extruded aluminum head rail.

 

 

 

2.05 FINISHING:

 

A.     Color of HDPE: Poly-blending selection of Classics, Impressions, and eX Series.

 

B.     Stainless Steel Surfaces: No. 4 satin finish.

 

C.          Aluminum: Anodized clear natural color.

 

 

 

PART 3 - EXECUTION

 

3.01   EXAMINATION

 

A.   Verify correct spacing of and between plumbing fixtures.

 

            B.    Verify correct location of built-in framing, anchorage, and backing

 

 

3.02   INSTALLATION

 

A.    Install partitions secure, rigid, plumb, and level in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

 

C.   Attach panels and pilasters to continuous brackets with vandal resistant screws.

 

D.  Locate head rail joints at pilaster center lines, and use end caps on exposed ends.

 

E.   Shoes anchored to floor with 1 1/2” #14 screws and plastic anchors. Pilaster secured within shoe with vandal resistant through bolt.

 

F.    Field touch-up of scratches or damaged finish will not be permitted. Replace   damaged or scratched materials with new materials.

 

 

 

 

3.03   ERECTION TOLERANCES

 

A.   Maximum Variation from True Position: 1/4 inch. Clearance at vertical edges of doors shall be uniform top to bottom and shall not exceed 1/4 inch.

 

B.        Maximum Variation From Plumb: 1/8 inch.

 

 

3.04  ADJUSTING

 

A.   Adjust and align hardware to uniform clearance at vertical edge of doors, not exceeding 1/4 inch.

 

B.      Adjust hinges to close doors when unlatched.

 

 3.05  CLEANING

 

A.    Clean finished surfaces under Section 01710.

 

B.     All surfaces shall be free of imperfections, scratch marks, blemishes or color variations.

 

C.     Remove and replace any components indicating evidence of imperfections.
